Since school started in January, life has been crazy in the fast lane! I was tending kids Monday and Tuesday, school Tuesday night from 4:30-10:00, Wednesday I watch a little baby for an hour in the morning, Thursday is mommy and me dance class with Kassi, and then serving at a local stakehouse Fridays and Saturdays. Church and family time on Sunday, then start the week over again. I thought I could handle all of it, and really I could...and was. Kassi and Tyler were the ones that were suffering. I have noticed that Kassi has started behaving differently and I didn't like it. Solution...cut back!
I talked with my friend who I tended kids for, and she was very gracious and understanding. Within a week she was able to find a replacement for me so that I could spend more quality time with my kids. Kassi was starting to fight me during her dance class, and really not enjoying it like she used to. At first this made me so mad...we were supposed to be having a great time being together!! After thinking about it some more...why do I care? I signed her up for HER, if she doesn't want to do it yet, big deal! She's only 2 anyway...there are lots more opportunities down the road.
To make a long story short, we (kids and I) are doing a lot less these days. The kids are happier and I am not as stressed...so I am happier!

That is a message we can all learn from!!! I am glad simplifying has benefited you all!!!
Good job! I am sure both you and the kids will enjoy it more with less going on and more mommy and me time. :D
You are such an example friend! Your great!
Way to go! I am glad that you could cut back. I have such a hard time with that, and saying no. Thanks for the example. It reminds me of the talk about good, better, and best. You were doing all good things now you get to do better/best things!
